Surrounded by the soothing sound of nature The Hoot offers a unique sanctuary from the daily grind!

Enjoy beautiful lake views & spot wildlife from the amazing raised decking. Relax in the hot tub, gaze at the stars or cosy up by the fire pit.

The Hoot is delightfully off the beaten track & nestles amongst natural landscape on our bijou wildlife haven, giving you seclusion & serenity. Lovingly furnished with local art & vintage crockery it has a koselig, off grid vibe which we hope you'll love!

The space
The Hoot is the perfect match for nature loving guests, looking to hideaway from the world and reconnect with each other.

The Hoot retains a wildness in the surroundings whilst being welcoming and cosy. Inside there's an eclectic mix of styles. It's been lovingly built & furnished with reclaimed materials, making it a popular choice for guests with sustainability in mind

There is a little garden area just for The Hoot which is diagonally across from the cabin. It's the perfect spot for a fire pit or as a leafy haven where you can read, paint or just listen to the water gently flowing.

Hideaway Holidays at Bellbrook is an off the beaten track destination surrounded by nature and nothing else! It's a place where passion for protecting native wildlife is in abundance and it's is a precious haven for many species. As such swimming, paddling, boating and fishing in the lake is not permitted as it harms the delicate ecosystem that has been created here.

Dedicated wildlife watchers will be able to spot endangered water voles, deer and kingfishers as well as amazing array of dragonflies which dance around the lakes in the summer.

The Hoot is perfect for those looking to swap screen time for green time so if the first thing you usually do on holiday is log on to the wifi, The Hoot won't be the right place for you! There is a Fire TV that works for streaming (don't forget your passwords). However it uses mobile wifi which isn't the most speedy & is also weather dependent therefore wifi hasn't been included the list of amenities - it's more of a Brucie Bonus!

If guaranteed internet access and TV are essential please don't book to avoid any disappointment. A DVD player, some DVDs and a selection of retro board games are provided for those mi-fi off days!

The Hoot is not suitable for guests with children/infants & therefore child friendly bits & bobs are not provided. Bookings from guests with children will not be accepted.

I hope to welcome you soon and please ask if you have any questions - I will always give an honest answer as happy guests make me happy 😊

Guest access
Please do not go past any private signs, metal hurdles or cross into the woods opposite as these are private areas.

Other things to note

  • The Hoot is accessed via a private farm track of around 500m (please note this is not a road and is somewhat bumpy and will it get muddy in the autumn and winter - we don't recommend it for low slung cars). The parking space, which is right next to the cabin, isn't huge so you'll need to be a whizz at 3 point turns - one car only.
  • As we're an off the beaten track retreat, we're surrounded by beautiful countryside and very little else. Therefore popping in the car is essential to access any shops, cafes, walks etc. The lanes are also single track for 2 miles so you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles). Please make sure you're happy with the semi remote location before booking.
  • Due to the off grid location of the cabin the lights will sometimes flicker. This is all part of the adventure of a rural hideaway but we want guests to be aware of this. We also ask that guests don't bring their own electrical appliances e.g. microwave or air fryers.

Please find our rates below - we have a 3 - 4 night minimum. The hot tub is included in the price and is open all year. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My boyfriend and I just spent a weekend here for his birthday. We had such a wonderful weekend. First of all, very easy to find, we used Google maps. I love that you can park right next to the cabin! It is so peaceful, private and relaxing. Right next to a lake, we loved watching the mother duck and her 4 little ducklings swim around ♥️ The hot tub was amazing! I downloaded the Merlin app which tells you what birds are singing, so many different birds came up! 🐦 Cabin was very clean, cute and has everything you need in the kitchen! Lots of board games to play, we played multiple games of Monopoly 😁 bed is very comfortable to sleep in, shower is great! Netflix worked fine for us, no problems with signal / WiFi at all. Deffo recommend buying the £15 firewood pack (you get loads) sitting by the fire toasting marshmallows is lovely 🔥 we didn’t leave the cabin all weekend because we didn’t want to (apart from some little strolls around the lake) and we had the best time 🫶🏼🏕️💕

We had such a lovely stay here. The cabin was exactly as described and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Being surrounded by nature made it feel really peaceful and relaxing. The cabin felt like a home away from home. The host was really friendly and easy to communicate with throughout, which made everything straightforward. We’d definitely stay again.

Had a wonderful few days in peace and tranquility, a beautiful place to wake up to birdsong and sip coffee looking out over the lake whilst the sun comes up , and in the evening watch it go down with a glass of wine in the hot tub , highly recommended

Can’t fault anything. A Peaceful, lovely place to relax. An immediate response from Ellen when we had a problem with WiFi that she resolved quickly. If you want a peaceful, relaxing place amongst the trees and wildlife at a fair price you can’t go wrong with this unique little place.
