The Hide has been lovingly furnished with sustainability and cosiness in mind. It's a warm and welcoming place to reconnect with each other as well as feeling the healing power of nature. The open plan living area opens onto the beautiful decking and the fully equipped kitchen makes cooking easy.

The Hide is part of Bellbrook Farm & we're passionate about protecting our native wildlife! Since 2022 we have worked in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust and Mother Nature to transform our former trout fishery into a haven for wildlife (around three acres are open to guests). There are no manicured lawns, tarmac paths or artful hedges in sight, just wild areas which we hope you'll enjoy exploring.

Dedicated wildlife enthusiasts might spot endangered water voles, deer and kingfishers as well as amazing array of dragonflies which dance around the lakes in the summer.

Due to the delicate ecosystem we're protecting guests are unable to swim or kayak etc in the lake.

As The Hide is truly off the beaten track & hidden amongst the trees you can only get there on foot. It's a walk of approximately 350m from the parking area through our field and then down a sloped track. The ground is uneven in parts and the first 20m of the track is a bit steep so you need to be confident on your feet and wear sensible walking shoes. We also recommend packing light and leaving your best wheeled luggage at home 😉

The quirk to this beautiful escape is that we cannot get a TV signal or broadband so we use mobile wifi inside the cabin. The mifi isn't guaranteed so it's ideal for those looking for a digital detox - not so much for guests who usually log onto the wifi as soon as they arrive. To avoid any disappointment, it is not included in the list of amenities. We do provide a DVD player & some films as well as selection of board games for those guests looking to unplug and have some old fashioned fun!

Please note: The Hide is not suitable for guests with children/infants & therefore we do not provide any child friendly bits & bobs.

As this is an off grid location the electricity is limited so the lights will occasionally flicker and we can't have a microwave. There is ample electricity for the lights, fridge, oven and charging devices.

We are delightfully off the beaten track and surrounded by private woodlands, farms and very little else. There are one of two hilly walks from The Hide and The Two Moors Way is a short drive but really a car is essential to access any walks, shops, cafes, etc.

As the lanes are single track for 2 miles, you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles) has a beautiful National Trust, a castle, museum, the Grand Western Canal (great walks and tearooms) and several supermarkets as well as a good pannier market.

Guest access
Guests have access to the wildlife reserve but must not go through any gates or metal hurdles (except those with a The Hide sign on them). We also ask that guests respect the private areas of the other cabins (these are signposted)

• Wood & charcoal are not included in your stay. However these are available to buy prior to arrival and will be left at the cabin for you.
